Organizational Context and Scope
Under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer and in close coordination with the AVR Hub team and relevant technical units (e.g., Protection, Health), the Caregiver will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Assist with the daily upkeep and functioning of the AVR Hub accommodation facilities, in line with established rules, procedures, and operational standards.
Support the condition, cleanliness, and hygiene of accommodation premises, including rooms and common areas, and report maintenance or facility-related issues to the supervisor or relevant service providers.
Assist with minor maintenance works and repairs and follow up on any infrastructure or facility-related issues, as instructed.
Assist in the distribution of basic items and supplies to accommodated beneficiaries, including hygiene and clothing kits, and inform the supervisor when replacement is required.
Assist beneficiaries in following accommodation schedules, common spaces, and house rules under the guidance of the supervisor.
Support food provision arrangements, where applicable, including the distribution of meals and reporting issues when identified.
Maintain regular communication with beneficiaries regarding accommodation-related matters, including house rules, daily routines, and available facilities.
Assist with logistical arrangements related to beneficiaries’ movements, including assistance with transfers to airports or other locations, as instructed by the project team.
Communicate daily operational needs or accommodation-related issues to relevant staff members, as instructed.
Support beneficiaries in following accommodation procedures related to personal daily activities (e.g. laundry).
Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- High school degree / certificate with three years of relevant work experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one year of relevant working experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
- Familiarity with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees or familiarity in working in a multi-cultural environment is desirable.

Previous working experience with vulnerable migrants or semi-independent living units is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural setting.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles.
- Good level of computer literacy.
Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, Fluency in English and Greek (written and oral) is required.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible to be appointed in a similar position for a period of 24 months.
