The Grand Bargain (GB), launched during the WHS in Istanbul in May 2016, is a unique agreement between some of the largest donors and humanitarian organisations who have committed to get more means into the hands of people in need and to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the humanitarian action.
The GB is a unique forum bringing together donors and aid organisations to drive progress on a common vision of maximising the impact of humanitarian work. The process is supported by a Secretariat, responsible for overall coordination and communication in the process, and for providing specific support to the governance bodies, namely the Grand Bargain Ambassadors and the Facilitation Group.
The Grand Bargain Secretariat requires an intern to support the team in during the final phase of the GB framework for 2024-2026, and the GB platform as formalised in 2016. The intern will provide analytical, administrative, logistical and event management support in close collaboration with the Policy and Communications Technical Officer and the rest of the team. The intern will be expected to undertake background research, contribute to the production of working documents and support the organisation of meetings and events.
The Secretariat is hosted by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in the Humanitarian Hub in Geneva. NRC provides administrative support including regarding the recruitment of staff that are contracted by the organisation. As per NRC procedures, all employees are expected to work in accordance with the organisation’s core values: dedication, innovation, inclusivity, and accountability. These attitudes and beliefs shall guide our actions and relationships.
