Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Programme Management Officer(s), the intern(s) will be responsible for the following: • Support conference preparation and coordination, including assisting with planning meetings, timelines, and follow‑up actions related to the organization of the 1st International Conference. • Assist in the preparation of documentation, such as briefing notes, background materials, participant lists, presentations, and information packages for internal and external stakeholders. • Contribute to stakeholder engagement, including helping maintain contact lists, drafting outreach messages, and supporting communication with Member States, UN entities, NGOs, and other partners. • Support logistical arrangements for virtual and in‑person meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking notes, and helping ensure smooth technical and administrative execution. • Support the development of a range of banners and newsletters for GFC Secretariat, the Fund and the Special Programme. • Assist in the development of materials to support the resource mobilization efforts including pitch decks for prospective donors. • Assist the team with its private sector engagement. • Perform other work-related duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Teams. Applicants should have excellent organizational, research, analytical skills, drafting and report writing experience. Familiarity with UN processes, procedures, or conference management is considered an asset. Good knowledge of development of resource mobilization materials is also an asset.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
