Como organización intergubernamental líder que desde 1951 promueve la migración humana y ordenada, la OIM juega un rol clave en cuanto a apoyar el logro de la Agenda 2030 por medio de diferentes áreas de intervención que conectan a la asistencia humanitaria con el desarrollo sostenible.

Context

The IOM Colombia Mission is strengthening its strategic planning and monitoring processes to ensure coherent implementation of its Country Strategy, alignment with the UNSDCF, and effective coordination with national institutions, UN counterparts, and key partners. Within this framework, the UN Volunteer will support the Strategic Planning and Institutional Liaison Unit in tracking progress against Mission-wide plans, reviewing implementation status, and contributing to the preparation of internal and external reports.

The assignment will also involve supporting the development and rollout of planning tools, assisting in information management and quality assurance processes, and participating in UN coordination mechanisms related to monitoring and reporting. This role will provide the Volunteer with hands-on experience in strategic planning, data-driven monitoring, and organizational performance management in a dynamic, multicultural environment

Task description

Under the direct supervision of National Strategic Planning and Institutional Liaison Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

1. ​​Support the management of the Mission’s strategic planning processes, framed within the UNSDCF, the Country Strategy, among others, with a primary emphasis on the formulation, monitoring, and reporting phases.

2. ​Contribute to the management and preparation of Mission-wide reports in Spanish and English for Headquarters, the United Nations System, the Government, and other strategic partners of the Mission, in coordination with the Programme Support Unit.

3. ​Carry out quality improvement processes in information management, project monitoring, and reporting, in coordination with the Programme Support Unit and in line with the Organization’s standard procedures.

4. ​Collaborate in the design and implementation of the Mission’s strategic planning rollout strategy.

5. ​Participate as the focal point for information, monitoring, and reporting in United Nations System coordination meetings (UNSDCF Monitoring Group, GTMI) and other fora as determined by the Unit Coordination and the Chief of Mission.

6. ​Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.​
