The Infrastructure Engineering team is instrumental in advancing the World Bank Group’s mission by designing, building, and maintaining the foundational IT infrastructure that supports global operations. The team manages critical infrastructure components end-to-end, including data centers, infrastructure as code, enterprise networks, storage systems, compute resources, virtualization platforms, and disaster recovery solutions. Duties and accountabilities:
• Manage the product lifecycle of the wide area network infrastructure to ensure operational availability; design and specify changes for implementation.
• Implement global network projects, including device configuration, and deployment, link acceptance testing, and troubleshooting of network events.
• Enhance the team’s proactive monitoring capability and compliance by creating automated reports/alerts for network events using Splunk and OpenText Network Automation.
• Handle escalation calls from the NOC, perform triage, and resolve problems.
• Provide continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the various network equipment and associated peripherals, including adequate follow up on problem resolution tracking using the ServiceNow tool.
• Follow and comply with the World Bank Group policies, processes, and procedures.
Selection Criteria
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Cisco operating systems (IOSXE).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches, Meraki dashboard, Riverbed SteelCentral, and OpenText Network Automation.
• Good understanding of networking protocols and services, including TCP/IP, IPSec, GRE, VRF, OSPF, BGP, STP, QoS, and policy-based routing.
• Hands-on experience with 802.1x in a large-scale enterprise network.
• Hands-on experience with MPLS, VSAT, and VPN. This includes testing and provisioning of links.
• Hands-on experience with packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump) and the ability to analyze them.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
