Mission and objectives
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations frontline agency fighting hunger. WFP reaches more than 150 million people per year - delivering humanitarian food assis-tance and working with smallholder farmers, communities, and governments to improve nu-trition and build resilience to crises. As conflict, climate change and economic shocks drive up the number of hungry people in Eastern Africa, finding innovative solutions to the com-plex humanitarian and development challenges in the region is essential, now perhaps more than ever.
In Rwanda, WFP works in partnership with the Government to support the country’s long-term development goals and its commitment to achieving zero hunger by ensuring food se-curity and nutrition and equitable access to sustainable livelihoods for all. In this effort, WFP Rwanda works closely with diverse stakeholders to provide general food and nutrition assis-tance to over 135,000 refugees, asylum seekers and returnees.
Beyond emergency assistance, WFP supports the strengthening of national systems in disaster risk management, social protection, nutrition, school feeding, and food systems transformation

Context
The second-generation (2G) Country Strategic Plan (CSP) was recently approved (November 2025) with January 2026 as a start month of implementation. Under this CSP, Nutrition has been made a cross-cutting function and expected to be integrated across all the Strategic Outcomes and programmes areas, maximizing impact across nutrition indicators. Nutrition strategy was developed and approved by the Country Office Senior Management Team to support and guide the implementation of the 2G CSP, systematically tracking and improving performance across set indicators and targets. The UN Volunteer will support these efforts by tracking and reporting the performance key indicators while also supporting the broader nutrition integration efforts.
Task description
The UN Volunteer will work with the Nutrition Team which is a cross-cutting function, coordinating and supporting nutrition programmes and the Strategic Outcomes (SOs) to integrate nutrition into their work under the 2G CSP.
Under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Advisor, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
• Support the collection, consolidation, and reporting of nutrition data across sub-offices and programme areas.
• Assist in the analysis of nutrition data and contribute to the preparation of accurate, timely, and high-quality reports on nutrition activities, enabling informed decision-making and ensuring consistency of information shared with stakeholders.
• Support nutrition integration programming by contributing to effective linkages across all pillars and strategic outcomes of the Second-Generation Country Strate-gic Plan.
• Assist in the regular tracking and monitoring of nutrition integration indicators in line with the Nutrition Strategy and the Second-Generation Country Strategic Plan.
• Contribute to nutrition-related projects supported by the Nutrition team, ensuring in-ternal coordination and alignment with Government priorities.
• Support key nutrition analytics workstreams by contributing to evidence generation and analysis that inform the design and implementation of nutrition programmes.
• Any other duty as may be required
