The Infrastructure Engineering team is instrumental in advancing the World Bank Group’s mission by designing, building, and maintaining the foundational IT infrastructure that supports global operations. The team manages critical infrastructure components end-to-end, including data centers, infrastructure as code, enterprise networks, storage systems, compute resources, virtualization platforms, and disaster recovery solutions. Their efforts ensure that infrastructure services are robust, secure, scalable, and cost-effective, forming the backbone for reliable digital services across all business units.

Duties and accountabilities:
The consultant will work as an embedded member of the windows server team and will be expected to contribute across the following areas:
• Manage and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) on-premises and in public cloud (AWS, Azure, OCI), ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance.
• Deploy Windows servers using certified images and perform OS configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Execute regular OS patching and vulnerability remediation in line with WBG security standards.
• Administer Active Directory, NTFS/CIFS share permissions, and Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools.
• Implement monitoring and alerting using CrowdStrike and Splunk, including dashboards and operational visualizations.
• Apply PowerShell scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to streamline and automate infrastructure operations.
• Contribute to incident, problem, and change management via Service CMDB; collaborate in a SAFe Agile environment.
• Maintain accurate system and procedural documentation; adhere to WBG policies and support continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate ownership in resolving client issues promptly and participate in the team's on-call production support rotation.
Selection Criteria
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (for example, in the IT field: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 1 year of related work experience).
