Major Responsibilities

A. Cleaning and Hygiene
• Clean and maintain IRC office and guesthouse premises daily.
• Ensure office space, including desks, interiors of cabinets, and all guesthouse premises (including equipment, furniture, assets, washrooms, kitchen, and other communal areas) are kept clean and hygienic.
• Sanitize and clean bathrooms, toilets, and washrooms regularly, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained.
• Clean windows, balconies, rooms, and external premises of the guesthouse.
• Ensure all kitchen utensils are cleaned and kept in a hygienic condition.
• Ensure each bathroom is stocked with toilet paper, soap, and hand towels.
• Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.

B. Cooking & Food Services
• Provide cooking services and prepare local meals for expat staff when required.
• Provide refreshments during coffee breaks for staff during office hours or during formal external visitors’ meetings, as requested by the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area and food preparation equipment.
• Ensure proper food hygiene, safe storage, and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Purchase food supplies from the local market for meal preparation for expat staff using personal funds.

C. Office Support
• Greet visitors in a polite and professional manner and direct them accordingly.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding IRC staff, visitors, premises, and internal matters.
• Maintain basic records of guesthouse supplies and office supplies.
• Support and monitor the use of different equipment and supplies in the office when required.
• Support inventory management of cleaning supplies under the direct supervisor's guidance.
• Report to the Admin Officer any damage, maintenance needs, hygiene-related issues, safety concerns, or any issues with office and guesthouse equipment.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor that are consistent with the nature of the position.
• Follow IRC safety, security, and code of conduct procedures at all times.

Requirements
• Experience in cooking local food; experience with Western food is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe cleaning practices related to office and guesthouse spaces.
• Experience in cooking and cleaning in an office, guesthouse, NGO, or similar environment is an advantage.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other staff members in cross-cultural contexts.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills in Arabic; English communication skills are preferable.
