Job Description
Introduction
This function, within in the office of the CIO, supports development of policies and their compliance in transversal computing activities across CERN, providing advice and analytical expertise to the departments on implementation in areas such as Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity and Risk Management.
Functions:
- Lead the participation in the CIO Community Technical Committees, task forces and cross-department working groups providing advice in the CIO domain.
- Coordinate implementation of the Office of the CIO GRC workplan items and reviewing CIO policies with the CERN community.
- Contribute to reviews of new digital initiatives, ensuring compliance with GRC policies.
- Advise the CIO on implications of ongoing activities in aspects of computing services.
Qualifications
Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Information Technology or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience in computing service architecture, design and delivery.
- Solid understanding of IT governance concepts and policies.
- Excellent analytics skills with an ability to work effectively in a federated environment with distributed responsibilities.
Technical competencies:
- Capturing and analysis of requirements for ICT systems.
- Knowledge of best practices for implementing ICT security standards and policies.
- Knowledge and application of software life-cycle tools and procedures.
- Verification and optimisation of ICT architectures and designs.
Behavioural competencies:
- Achieving Results: producing comprehensive work / project plans taking into account resources and contingencies.
- Communicating Effectively: leveraging support networks across the Organization.
- Demonstrating Flexibility: actively participating in the implementation of new processes and technologies.

Language skills:
Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
