The Role

At Last Mile Health, we go as far as it takes for our patients. Do you have experience coordinating large scale learning or health programs, managing stakeholder relationships, and supporting budgets, reporting, and blended learning initiatives in complex environments?

The purpose of this project is to enhance the capacity of health professionals through coordinated upskill initiatives. The project aims to facilitate effective blended learning experiences by collaborating with the Ministry of Health, Regional Health Bureaus, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) centers, and various stakeholders.

The project will focus on improving communication and coordination with CPD centers, ensuring effective budget planning and monitoring, facilitating the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), tracking expenditures, and reviewing financial reports from CPD centers to promote program efficiency and accountability.

Additionally, the project seeks to enhance blended learning modules by developing new content in a blended format, advancing instructional design, and conducting quality checks on updated module versions to ensure high standards of education and training for health professionals.

This role is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and is open to candidates who are located in and have work authorization in Ethiopia.

Consultancy Details

  • Project Duration: July 2026- November 2026
  • Commitment: Up to 35 hours per week
  • Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
  • Fees: Monthly fees of $1300 USD

Scope of Work

  • Development of comprehensive instructional design frameworks, including facilitator guides, assessments, and learning materials for blended learning, aligned with new content from the Ministry of Health
  • Facilitation of communication and coordination with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) centers, including the execution of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and budget planning
  • Track training expenditure and review financial reports to ensure program efficiency and accountability.
  • Coordination and technical support to contract-based field implementers to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  • Planning, coordination, and execution of blended training sessions for Health Extension Workers (HEWs).

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in the field of public health. Master’s in public health or any related field will be an advantage. 
  • Relevant professional experience in field program coordination, community health, or related public health programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working within national and sub-national health systems, including community health worker programs, familiarity with government structures, processes, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in planning, delivering, and managing capacity-building interventions for frontline health workers.
  • Ability to mentor, guide, and coordinate with field implementers providing technical support and capacity development.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, solve problems proactively, achieve results, and build consensus across multiple actors.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team under pressure while meeting deadlines.
