Job Description

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a
highly motivated and detail-oriented Agronomy & Biology Intern to
join our Genetic Innovation group. Situated within the
Biodiversity department and working directly with the Genebank, the
intern will support the coordination, documentation, and logistical execution
of national and international germplasm distribution.

About the role: The intern will play a critical role in facilitating
global agricultural research by ensuring that plant genetic resources are
distributed efficiently and accurately. This internship will be based in Lima,
Peru, and will work under the technical supervision of the Germplasm
Distribution team, collaborating closely with researchers and logistics
personnel to maintain the highest standards of plant health and documentation.

Training activities:

·Support the coordination and documentation of
germplasm distribution requests.

·Assist in preparing shipment documentation and
accession lists.

·Support the updated distribution records and
databases.

·Provide logistical support for national and
international shipments.

·Assist in preparing reports related to germplasm
distribution activities.

Requirements

What are we looking for?

·Students in their final semesters or recent graduates
in Agronomy, Biology, Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering, or related
fields.

·Basic knowledge of plant genetic resources, plant
health, plant propagation, or in vitro plant material.

·Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, with
the ability to prepare and organize documents accurately.

·Intermediate level of written English.

·Service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal
communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and
deadlines.

·Interest in
international research collaboration and germplasm exchange.
