CERN's Knowledge Transfer Group (KT), part of the Industry, Procurement and Knowledge Transfer Department (IPT), is looking for a Junior Marketing Communications Officer to join its Marketing, Communications and Impact Section.
Your responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the CERN KT marketing and communications strategy, geared towards industry and external/internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the evaluation and monitoring of the CERN KT marketing and communications activities, including monthly, quarterly, and project reports.
- Keep abreast of the latest technologies to support efficient marcomms delivery.
- Share resources and assist with other communication and marketing activities in the wider IPT Department, including work on annual reports.
- Create and update communication and marketing material: presentations, websites (WordPress), newsletters, posters, social media campaigns (LinkedIn), brochures, audio-visual material, editing, and proof-reading.
- Science and technology writing (news items, articles).
- Events and website support.
- Collect technical information on CERN technology projects, and on the KT Group activities, e.g.: patents, licensing, links with industry, entrepreneurial support, startups related to CERN technology, and CERN technology R&D.
- Simultaneously manage several projects with different timelines.
Your profile
The following experience would be beneficial:
- Experience in content creation (e.g. web articles).
- Experience using LinkedIn for social media campaigns.
- Experience in graphic design using Canva or a related tool.
- Experience in producing multimedia materials (e.g. short videos).
- Experience using WordPress.
Skills
- Content creation (writing, presentations, audiovisual and marketing material production) (e.g. this report)
- Developing marketing communication plans.
- Social media (e.g. LinkedIn).
- Event organisation.
- Public relations.
- Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Communication, Marketing, Social Science (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
