Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead and strengthen the IT Support and Digitalization team by ensuring high-quality, user-centric IT service delivery while advancing digital solutions that support Diakonia’s mission. The role combines operational leadership, hands-on expertise, and a strong commitment to empowerment, collaboration, and ethical use of technology.

Scope of Work

The selected candidate will oversee IT support operations (first and second line), guide continuous improvement efforts, and contribute to digital transformation initiatives including cloud services, Microsoft 365 adoption, and compliance activities such as GDPR. The role requires close collaboration with program and global teams, partners, and vendors while ensuring inclusiveness and adaptability across diverse contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the IT Support and Digitalization team in a collaborative and inclusive manner
• Ensure delivery of high-quality IT services aligned with service levels and user needs
• Provide hands-on support for complex IT issues
• Drive continuous service improvement with a focus on usability and accessibility
• Lead and contribute to digitalization initiatives and change activities
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and responsible data management
• Foster strong collaboration with stakeholders and external partners
• Maintain transparent documentation and knowledge sharing practices

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in modern IT environments
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Microsoft 365 (support, security, configuration)
• Experience in IT support within international or distributed environments
• Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
• Relevant academic background or equivalent experience

Leadership Competencies

• Ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and inclusiveness
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to balance operational excellence with long-term development
• Experience driving digital change aligned with organizational values

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem (Windows, M365)
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services
• Understanding of networking (LAN, WAN, VPN)
• Knowledge of IT security and compliance

Languages

• Fluency in English (required)
• Spanish, French, or Swedish are considered an advantage
