About the job
As the Director of Global IT, you will be responsible for delivering a reliable, secure and fit‑for‑purpose IT foundation which is essential for DRC to deliver high‑quality assistance and maintain critical documentation for refugees and displaced people worldwide. You will set strategic priorities for DRC’s IT landscape, working closely with top management and operational leaders. Our focus is to ensure stability, security, and maximum value from existing systems rather than large-scale development. Our ambition is to strengthen the organisation through pragmatic digitalisation, improved use of existing tools, and clear prioritisation of what truly matters for operations.
As Director for Global IT, you will guide this direction together with your three IT-leaders and about 35 directs IT- staff on Data and Solutions, Dynamics and Automation and IT-security. Besides that, each country has its own day-to-day IT organizations which you and your team will also guide.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Strategic leadership of Global IT across HQ and Country Offices, with a strong focus on prioritisation and value-for-money
- Ensure a lean, fit-for-purpose IT organisation that supports DRC’s humanitarian mandate within existing resource constraints
- Ensuring continued operation and support of DRC’s ERP system (Dynamics 365), BI-system and ongoing automation initiatives
- Leading the design, operation and support of core IT systems that meet essential organisational needs
- Driving enterprise architecture, application lifecycle management, cyber security efforts and GDPR compliance at a realistic and sustainable level
- Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders, ensuring clear communication on what IT can deliver, what it cannot, and where trade-offs are required
- Managing annual IT budgets, ensuring that all investments are aligned with DRC’s strategic objectives and resource limitations
- Providing leadership, coaching and direction to the IT management team and staff reporting directly to you
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to:
- Have several years of leadership experience in a global IT environment
- Have solid experience in large, global organizations, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts
- Demonstrated successful execution of strategy and strategic planning, organization design and development
- Proven experience in leading large, complex and transformational initiatives in dynamic environments and taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business models and enable the digitalization of the organization
- Have interpersonal and intercultural skills and a strong ability to collaborate and network
- Have good oral and written communication skills in English
- Master leadership and followship at all levels in a large global organization.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and Lederaftalen (management agreement) which is available at lederne.dk. This is a national position for which Danish local terms and conditions apply.
