About this position

We are looking for a detail-oriented, innovative, and proactive Market Risk Consultant. In this role, you will enhance workflows, develop new models, and automate new reports to support our team’s efforts in managing and mitigating market risks effectively.

You will work in the Financial & Operational Risk Division (FOR) part of the Risk Management Department (RSM). This team is responsible for is responsible for coordinating the design and implementation of Financial and Operational Risk frameworks within IDB Invest. As it relates to Market Risks, the team identifies, quantifies and monitors interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk and the price risk of the investment portfolio. 

What you’ll do

  • Calculate and explain key market risk metrics (e.g., VaR, DV01, stress testing) and drivers of position and P&L changes, supporting Treasury’s investment strategy and methodology validation.
  • Develop and maintain market risk policies, guidelines, and limits, partnering with Treasury, IT, Audit, and Operations to strengthen governance and controls.
  • Design and enhance reporting workflows, analytics, and executive dashboards for risk and front-office stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the collection, integration, and quality control of data from multiple sources to support reliable, compliant risk reporting and decision-making.
  • Build and optimize queries, reports, and interactive visualizations using Databricks, Power BI, and Excel in coordination with Technology and Risk teams.
  • Design and support the automation of data sourcing and reporting processes within financial risk systems to enhance scalability, efficiency, and alignment with strategic objectives.

What you'll need

  • Education: Master’s degree  in Economy, Mathematics, Engineering, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in finance, capital markets, risk management and/or portfolio management with exposure to stress testing and fixed income analytics.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English.

Type of contract and duration

International consultant Full-Time, 6 months (up to 48 months, if applicable).
