Major Responsibilities:

Safety and Security Management

  • Provide support to the Sr. Coordinator (Access, Safety and Security) on reviewing the security related documents ie operational guidelines and planning for staff safety, operational security and program continuity in Myanmar.
  • Assist Sr. Coordinator (Access, Safety and Security) to evaluate, review and update security management plans and ensure that practical preparations are in place and known to all staff involved.
  • Support on updating security risk assessments of all IRC operation areas in Myanmar at least once a year, sometimes twice.
  • Support Sr. Coordinator (Access, Safety and Security) to be able to provide monthly security incident report to SMT.
  • Undertake continual assessments of equipment, and the protocols under which the equipment is used, to ensure that minimal conditions for security are being met.
  • Provide and implement the best possible solutions for use of equipment to facilitate communication among staff.


Coordination and Security Management Support:

  • Cooperate with field S&S officers in IRC implemented area to fulfill the requirements for Safety and Security sector.
  • Assist on security risk assessment of new operational areas and security consideration highlights.
  • Join security coordination meetings if required, and report highlighted points to supervisor.
  • Support in organizing safety and security meetings in Yangon office and generate meeting minutes.

  

Incident Management and Reporting:

  • Assist on all incidents and accidents official written report, which is then shared with relevant stakeholders in IRC and filed appropriately.
  • Ensure that any incident cases must follow with immediate incident report and post-incident report according to incident reporting SOP.
  • Monitor security incidents that happened in Yangon region and update the incident tracker on a daily basis.
  • Submit daily contextual updates in line with IRC reporting template.
  • Assist on compiling and submitting monthly security reporting that tracks incidents and trends within IRC’s areas of operation.


Security Training and Orientation:

  • Assist line manager to provide regular training/Awareness sessions to IRC staff on security preparedness, prevention, and response. Training(s) may include Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs); Contingency Plans (CPs); Security Management; Incident Reporting; Safety and Security Orientation, Prevention and Response Mechanisms; Communications protocols, etc
  • Assist on reviewing and updating the IRC Security briefing of Yangon, Country Office to provide orientation to new hires and visitors.

Partner support:

  • Assist Senior Officer (Access & Safety), cooperation with partnership teams across the country to fulfill the requirements of partners for Safety and Security sector.
  • Assist Senior Officer (Access & Safety) in conducting S & S training/security briefing for partner organizations if there is a demand from the partners.
