The Scope
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. With a presence in over 80 countries, FSC brings together environmental, social, and economic stakeholders to drive sustainable impact worldwide.
We are seeking a proactive and impact-driven Learning & Development Officer to shape and deliver FSC’s global learning strategy. In this role, you will identify organizational learning needs and translate them into effective, scalable development initiatives that strengthen capability across a diverse, international workforce.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
- Partner with business units and leadership to assess, understand, and act on short- and long-term learning needs across the organization
- Design, coordinate, and deliver global learning and development initiatives (internal and external)
- Identify and source high-quality external training providers, managing RFP processes in collaboration with procurement
- Oversee end-to-end training logistics, including vendor management, contracting, and quality assurance
- Develop and maintain engaging learning materials (digital and in-person formats)
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, using data and feedback to continuously improve impact
- Contribute to the development of L&D-related policies, processes, and best practices
Your profile
- University degree in Education, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Learning & Development, preferably in an international or mission-driven environment
- Proven ability to assess learning needs and translate them into actionable development solutions
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- A structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused working style
- High levelof service orientation and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with external vendors and training providers
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural, cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical mindset with experience evaluating learning impact
- Proficiencyin MS Office / Microsoft 365; experience with HR systems (e.g.SAP,Personio) is an advantage
- Proficient use of digital learning platforms, particularly LinkedIn Learning
- Fluency in English; German is a plus

Location: Bonn, Germany (Hybrid)Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance) Starting Date: As soon as possible.
