The overall purpose of the Information Management Officer role is to support Danish Refugee Council in the effective management, quality assurance, analysis, and utilization of programmatic data collected by staff and partners across Somalia. The role focuses on strengthening information management processes through data cleaning, deduplication, scoring, validation, and data visualization, as well as KoboToolbox form development, coding, and technical support for information management systems such as the Referral Management System (RMS). The position will ensure data accuracy, consistency, confidentiality, and timely reporting to support evidence-based programming, coordination, accountability, and informed decision-making across humanitarian operations.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Manage, clean, validate, and maintain programmatic datasets collected by staff and partners to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Conduct data deduplication, scoring, verification, and quality assurance checks for beneficiary and referral data across different systems and databases.
- Develop, code, test, and maintain digital data collection tools using KoboToolbox, including skip logic, calculations, constraints, and validation rules.
- Provide technical support and day-to-day management of information management systems, including the Referral Management System (RMS) and related platforms used for programme implementation and coordination.
- Produce dashboards, data visualizations, analytical summaries, and routine reports to support monitoring, coordination, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Support data integration, migration, and synchronization between KoboToolbox, RMS, CRM systems, and other programme databases where applicable.
- Train and support staff and partners on the use of KoboToolbox, RMS, reporting tools, and information management procedures to strengthen data quality and system utilization.
- Support data protection and information governance processes by ensuring secure handling, storage, confidentiality, and sharing of sensitive beneficiary and programme data in line with DRC policies and data-sharing agreements.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have:
Required
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Information Management, Data Management, or related humanitarian/development programming roles.
- Proven experience in managing, cleaning, validating, deduplicating, and analyzing large programmatic datasets.
- Strong experience in developing and managing digital data collection tools using KoboToolbox, including XLSForms, skip logic, calculations, constraints, and validation rules.
- Experience supporting information management systems, referral systems, CRMs, or case management platforms such as the Referral Management System (RMS).
- Strong understanding of data quality assurance processes, data governance, confidentiality, and data protection principles in humanitarian settings.
- Experience producing dashboards, analytical reports, and data summaries for operational decision-making and donor reporting.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills for digital systems and end-user support.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines in a complex operational environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and training skills, with the ability to support staff and partners remotely and in person.
Preferred
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting platforms.
- Experience in GIS theory and GIS software (including QGIS, ArcGIS, CARTODB…) is an asset;
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or other data management and automation tools is an added advantage.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for
employees on national contract.
