Job Description
Positioning and reporting
Under the authority of the Director General and direct supervision of the Head of the Quality Management and Internal Control Unit.
Job purpose
The Junior Officer supports the strengthening of the organisation’s internal control and quality management system. He/she assists in coordinating internal and external audits, monitoring recommendations, and contributing to awareness-raising and continuous improvement initiatives.
Missions and activities

Internal control
– Contribute to the implementation of internal control activities and the monitoring of existing processes
– Support the management of the organisation’s document inventory
– Identify procedures and frameworks that need updating or further development
– Support the preparation of Audit Committee meetings  

Coordination of external audits and donor compliance
– Support the coordination of external audits related to donor-funded projects
– Support the update of the audit recommendations follow-up, in coordination with relevant teams
– Contribute to the preparation of the European Commission Pillar Assessment  

Internal audit
– Support the conduct of internal audits
– Contribute to the development and improvement of the internal audit methodology  

Awareness and continuous improvement
– Contribute to the development of awareness-raising materials on internal control for teams
– Participate in initiatives aimed at strengthening the culture of internal control within the organization.  
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Required qualifications and experience
– Master’s degree in Audit, Finance, Management Control, International Relations, Law, or a related field.
– Initial professional experience or internships in audit, finance, internal control or compliance.
– Previous experience in an international organisation, NGO, public institution or consultancy.

Additional experience (asset)
– Experience in external audits, internal audits, reporting processes, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.  

Expected Skills
Technical skills                                     
– Excellent written and spoken English.
– Working knowledge of a second official language of WOAH (French or Spanish) is highly desirable.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with collaborative document management tools.
– Knowledge of donor rules and regulations.
– Good understanding of organisational processes and ability to develop and draft formal documentation (SOPs, guidelines, policies, regulatory documents).

– Strong analytical and structured thinking skills.
– Professional discretion when handling sensitive information.
– Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment.

Additional Information
Working conditions
– Salary: The monthly salary ranges from EUR 2,490 and EUR 2,650, depending on experience and qualifications, with allowances based on eligibility. The salary is exempt from income tax in France.
– Type of contract: WOAH Staff – Fixed-term contract.
– Duration: 6 months.
– Location: WOAH Headquarters 12 rue de Prony 75017 Paris, France.

The post is a full-time position based at the WOAH Headquarters in Paris and requires long hours in a seated position at a computer. It can entail missions abroad.
