Job Description
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Head of Sub‑Office in Majuro, the Senior Programme Associate (MIDAS / International Border Management) provides day‑to‑day operational and administrative support and coordination to the implementation of IOM’s MIDAS and International Border Management activities in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
The position supports project operations, including coordination with the Department of Immigration (DOI), logistical organization of trainings and workshops, follow‑up on agreed activities, maintenance of project records, and tracking of implementation progress.
The Senior Programme Associate (MIDAS) works closely with DOI counterparts at Points of Entry to support and coordinate the practical rollout and daily use of MIDAS, facilitates the distribution and application of SOPs, supports workshop and meeting logistics, gathers and consolidates operational feedback from officers, and maintains complete and up to date project documentation. The role is focused on implementation support, scheduling, coordination, documentation, and monitoring of activities, rather than technical system configuration or strategic planning.
Responsibilities
General Program Support
Support and coordinate day-to-day engagement with IOM staff and DOI counterparts for MIDAS project activities.
Coordinate and organize scheduling meetings, trainings, workshops, and missions, including follow-up on action points.
Maintain project files, trackers, and SharePoint documentation, supporting data consistency and accessibility.
Monitor follow‑up on agreed actions and implementation progress, and flag delays or issues to the supervisor.
Draft inputs, annexes, and supporting documentation for donor and internal reports.
MIDAS and Border Management Operations
Coordinate day‑to‑day implementation support of MIDAS‑related activities at Points of Entry.
Support coordination of MIDAS refresher trainings and operational workshops in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Gather, consolidate, and summarize operational feedback from DOI officers regarding MIDAS use and procedural challenges.
Monitor implementation of agreed procedures and contribute to identification of operational issues and follow-up actions.
Training, Workshops, and Validation
Organize and coordinate logistics for trainings, meetings, and validation workshops.
Prepare attendance sheets, agendas, presentations, and summary notes.
Document workshop outcomes, including key findings, action points, and afollow-up requirements.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma with six years of relevant experience; or
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, Busincess Administartion, International Relations, Information System or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant experience.
Experience
- Experience supporting project or programme implementation in immigration, border management, governance, or related areas.
- Experience organizing trainings, workshops, meetings, or stakeholder events.
- Experience working with government counterparts is an advantage.
- Previous experience with IOM, a UN agency, or an international organization is desirable.
