Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of Associate Ombuds Programs Officer is assigned to the Office of the Ombudsperson (OOMP). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

You will report to the Ombudsperson and designated Officer.


Your Role

As Associate Ombuds Programs Officer, you will contribute to OOMP's informal conflict resolution function at ADB through case data management and analysis and help implement the Office's communication plan.


You will:

  • Lead OOMP's data management and analysis, generating statistical insights into trends and patterns arising from the Office's case data.
  • Maintain the Office's database and case management system.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of OOMP's communications plan.
  • Create and design data visualization for different presentation materials and audiences.
  • Support hybrid outreach and awareness raising activities using innovative approaches and latest technological tools.
  • Develop materials for outreach and awareness raising activities.
  • Conduct research as assigned.
  • Lead OOMP's knowledge management activities including updating SharePoint and web page contents and electronic records management.
  • Support overall administration of the Office.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects to enhance the effectiveness of OOMP's services.
  • Represent OOMP in organizational initiatives as requested.

Qualifications

You will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, communications, management, marketing, statistics, information technology, or any related fields; preferably with advanced training.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in data management and analysis and marketing and communication; related experience in international agencies will be an advantage.
  • Experience in database management, handling data and producing interactive data dashboards.
  • Experience supporting the development of communication strategies based on data trends and insights.
  • Experience producing awareness raising materials.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion, and sensitivity to cross-cultural factors in communications and interpersonal relations.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English.

Additional Information

This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew, initially for a period of up to 3 years, or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes earlier, for the purpose(s) and conditions determined by ADB, in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period, ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 3 years or not renewed. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB, based on factors including but not limited to the requirement of Staff's particular blend of skills and experience for the medium-term work program of the organizational unit, sufficient funding to cover the renewed period, and Staff's performance and suitability for employment. There is no limit to the number of renewals up to NRD. However, this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.
