Group Strategy Office (GSO) provides leadership and support in strategy, foresight, development and management efforts across the World Bank Group. It promotes the alignment, quality and coherence between the World Bank Group’s individual strategies.
We are seeking four Strategy Officers who will support the Director of the Group Strategy Office (GSOD) in designing, developing, and aligning strategy initiatives across the World Bank Group. This role will focus on establishing strategic frameworks, fostering innovation, and ensuring that strategic goals are ambitious and consistent with the organization’s mission.
The World Bank Group is seeking a Strategy Officer for Strategic Partnerships who will support the Director of the Group Strategy Office (GSOD) in advancing the institution’s philanthropy agenda, including the design and implementation of a philanthropy strategy and the establishment of a dedicated Hub.
The position will combine strategic development with operational coordination and external engagement, particularly in a European context.
• Support the development and operationalization of the World Bank Group’s philanthropy strategy, including analytical inputs, stakeholder mapping, and identification of priority engagement areas.
Selection Criteria
- Master’s degree in a business administration, international policy, economics or other relevant field/discipline with 5+ years of work experience in partnerships, strategy, international organizations, or development operations.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, or external relations, preferably in a multilateral or humanitarian context.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience in preparing strategic briefs, synthesizing information, and supporting decision-making processes.
- Experience working across headquarters and field settings, with an understanding of operational contexts and coordination challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and build collaborative relationships.
- Ability to operate effectively in a multicultural and diverse global environment.
