Job purpose:

 

Under the direction of the Finance Officer, the Finance Volunteer will support the routine accounting work within the Accounts payable in accordance with IRC’s policies and procedures, and in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day to day bookkeeping i.e. Invoicing PO’s and non-PO’s
  • Preparing Payment vouchers
  • Mobile money transactions
  • Track Staff advance and reimbursements
  • Cash and Mobile Money account Reconciliation
  • Monitor petty cash transactions and replenishment
  • Filing support documents on Box and Integra
  • Retrieve Audit support documents
  • Prepare cheques and pick cash from the bank
  • Monitor payment folders
  • Orient staff on policies and procedures and ensure that they are adhered to.
  • Complete bulk imports of CUG, data and adjustments.
  • Any other duties assigned.

Minimum Requirements


  • University bachelor’s degree in accounting, Commerce or Finance from a reputable University.
  • Experience working with any organisation as well as experience in Computerized Accounting packages is an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of Excel, organizational skills; the ability to work with computers, effective communication, the ability to work under pressure.
