Duties & Responsibilities of the Job:

Clinical Care

• Perform rapid patient assessment, triage, and stabilization at the scene and during

transport.

• Provide emergency nursing interventions, including airway management, oxygen

therapy, IV access, medication administration, wound care, and cardiac

monitoring.

• Assist in advanced life support (ALS) procedures as per the scope of practice.

• Monitor patient conditions continuously and respond promptly to changes.

• Provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients and families during

emergencies.

Emergency Response:

• Respond promptly and safely to emergency calls.

• Collaborate effectively with paramedics, ambulance drivers, physicians, and other

emergency responders.

• Assist with extrication and patient transfer while maintaining patient safety.

• Ensure proper handover and documentation upon transfer to receiving health

facilities.

Documentation and Communication:

• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes on patient

care reports.

• Communicate clearly with receiving medical facilities regarding patient status and

care provided.

• Follow legal, ethical, and professional standards of nursing practice.

Equipment and Safety:

• Ensure ambulance equipment, medications, and supplies are checked, stocked,

and ready for use.

• Maintain infection prevention and control practices at all times.

• Follow ambulance safety procedures and emergency driving protocols.

Quality and Professional Practice:

• Adhere to clinical guidelines, protocols, and EMS policies.

• Participate in drills, training, and continuous professional development activities.

• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within EMS.

Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.

• Valid nursing license/registration with the relevant regulatory body.

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS)

preferred.

• Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in emergency, critical care, or acute care

nursing (preferred).

• Pre-hospital or ambulance experience is an advantage.
