Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and a related organization of the United Nations. IOM works closely with governments, UN agencies, civil society, and communities to promote humane and orderly migration, provide humanitarian assistance, support recovery and development efforts, and improve the well-being of migrants, displaced populations, and host communities.

This United Nations Volunteers (UNV) assignment is part of IOM Democratic Republic of the Congo's Programme Support Unit (PSU), which provides strategic oversight, reporting, information management, resource mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, and donor coordination support across the Mission's portfolio. IOM DRC implements one of the Organization's largest operations globally, supporting crisis-affected populations through health, humanitarian, recovery, stabilization, displacement tracking, migration management, and resilience building programmes.

The Reporting and Information Management Officer will support the Mission's efforts to strengthen data management, reporting, analysis, and knowledge management systems. Through the collection, analysis, visualization, and dissemination of programme and operational information, the assignment will contribute to evidence-based decision-making, accountability to affected populations and donors, and improved programme performance.

The assignment directly supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by strengthening information systems and reporting mechanisms that inform health, humanitarian, and emergency response interventions, including disease outbreak preparedness and response, migration health activities, and support to vulnerable and displaced populations. The assignment will also contribute to improving coordination, operational effectiveness, and the availability of reliable data to guide programme implementation and strategic planning.
