About the Region

The UNOPS Africa Regional Office, based in Nairobi, Kenya, oversees the delivery of over 250 projects across 40 countries, with a focus on fragile and conflict-affected settings. Supported by more than 1,000 personnel across five multi-country offices—spanning North, West, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa, and the Horn of Africa—the office advances national priorities through strategic initiatives in Climate Action, Health, Infrastructure, Peace and Security, Middle-Income Country Support, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). About the Country/Multi-Country Office

Since 1999, the Central Africa Multi-Country Office (CAMCO), headquartered in Kinshasa, DRC, has partnered with UN agencies, international organizations, and governments in 15 Central African nations. CAMCO provides fund management, technical assistance, and capacity-building across critical sectors—infrastructure, health, education, governance, procurement, and environmental protection—while working with national and local authorities to secure local ownership and sustainable impact. The diverse portfolio spans rural-community empowerment, road rehabilitation, and peace consolidation in the DRC and CAR through Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) programmes, alongside wide-ranging procurement and human-resource services. Recent initiatives include drinking-water systems in Cameroon, mining-sector capacity-building, health-system support in the DRC, and infrastructure development in Madagascar, funded by a broad array of international partners. Together, these projects advance regional stability, resilient infrastructure, and improved livelihoods throughout Central Africa.

About the Project Office

Since 2014, UNOPS has been a key partner in the Central African Republic (CAR), delivering essential services in project management, procurement, and human resources to support national development and peacebuilding efforts. UNOPS strengthens community resilience, enhances transportation infrastructure, and contributes to peace and security, aligning closely with government priorities. Key initiatives include the World Bank/AFD-funded PURIC project, restoring critical infrastructure and improving rural connectivity; INUSCA-supported Community Violence Reduction (CVR) programmes, promoting conflict prevention and social cohesion; and the rehabilitation of the Bangui Paediatric Hospital’s Neonatology Unit, funded by the Italian Cooperation. UNOPS also implements health infrastructure projects supported by the Global Fund, expanding access to essential healthcare. Additionally, UNOPS provides human resource services for MINUSCA, enabling effective peace operations. Role Purpose

L'Analyste principal·e en santé et sécurité, gestion sociale et environnementale – santé et sécurité au travail est responsable de la planification, de la mise en œuvre et du suivi des politiques et procédures de santé et sécurité au travail, ainsi que de la gestion des aspects environnementaux et sociaux des projets. Il/Elle fournit un appui technique aux équipes de projet, assure la conformité aux normes et réglementations applicables, et contribue à la promotion d'une culture de santé et sécurité au travail.


Functions / Key Results Expected

1. Gestion des aspects environnementaux et sociaux

  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des plans de gestion environnementale et sociale (PGES) pour les projets, en conformité avec les politiques et procédures d'UNOPS et les exigences des bailleurs de fonds.
  • Identifier et évaluer les risques et impacts environnementaux et sociaux, de santé et de sécurité des projets, et proposer des mesures d'atténuation appropriées
  • Assurer la conformité des projets aux normes environnementales et sociales nationales et internationales.
  • Mener des audits environnementaux et sociaux réguliers des projets, et suivre la mise en œuvre des recommandations.Gérer les relations avec les parties prenantes locales du projet, y compris les communautés locales, les autorités gouvernementales et les organisations de la société civile, en matière d'environnement et de questions sociales.
  • Contribuer à la sensibilisation et à la formation des équipes de projet et des partenaires sur les questions environnementales et sociales.


2. Suivi et évaluation

  • Contribuer à l'élaboration et mettre en œuvre des systèmes de suivi et d'évaluation des performances en matière de santé et sécurité au travail.
  • Collecter et contribuer a l’analyse des données relatives aux accidents, incidents et maladies professionnelles, et identifier les tendances et les causes profondes.
  • Préparer des rapports réguliers sur les performances en matière de santé et sécurité au travail, et proposer des recommandations d'amélioration.
  • Mener des inspections et des audits de santé et sécurité au travail réguliers des chantiers et des installations, et suivre la mise en œuvre des recommandations.
  • Contribuer a la conformité des projets aux exigences légales et réglementaires en matière de santé et sécurité au travail.
  • Contribuer à la sensibilisation et à la formation des équipes de projet et des partenaires sur les questions de santé et sécurité au travail.

3. Résultats-clés

  • Assurer la mise en œuvre efficace des politiques et procédures de santé et sécurité au travail, ainsi que des plans de gestion environnementale et sociale.

Education Requirements

Required

  • Maîtrise ou équivalent avec 2 ans d'expérience pertinente; 

  • Ou Licence ou équivalent avec 4 ans d'expérience pertinente; 

  • Ou Diplôme technique/professionnel avec 6 ans d'expérience pertinente; 

  •  Ou Diplôme d'études secondaires avec 8 ans d'expérience pertinente.

Experience Requirements
