Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a qualified student worker to be a part of Danish Refugee Council’s Business Intelligence team.

About the job

You will be part of a small, highly skilled team that transforms data into actionable insights to support decision-making throughout the organisation. As a member of the Business Intelligence (BI) team, you will work closely with our colleagues both inside and outside of the IT department. The day-to-day work focuses on building and maintaining various types of data products distributed to, and used by, DRC’s global network of Power BI report builders. We work in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and open discussions. We’re not afraid to try new things, and we respect that time must be set aside to learn.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Assisting with backend transformation of data in Databricks for different needs.
  • Assisting with frontend data modelling in Power BI.
  • Assisting key organizational stakeholders in translating business needs to technical deliverables.
  • Assisting with support tickets and questions.

About you

The BI team aims to create clarity and understanding between functions, departments, and management. You should therefore be interested in all aspects of the work; from maturing business ideas into qualified requests, to developing them into final solutions. You will be part of a team that collaborates closely with one another: We design solutions together, do pair programming, and give feedback on each other’s work. The whole team, and not any one individual, owns the backlog of work and solutions. You should feel comfortable about this collaborative approach, it will require a lot from you, but you will also learn a lot.

For you to thrive in this position, the prerequisites are:

Required

  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with Power BI or another BI tool
  • Interest in collaborating with none-technical colleagues
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant academic programme relating to data (e.g., ITU, DTU, KU, AAU)
  • Fluent in English (Danish, French, Spanish or Arabic are not required but is a plus)

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Python
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Databricks
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power automate, Power App)
