As we continue to grow private fundraising across Norway, Sweden, Germany, and the USA, we are investing in how we recruit, engage, retain, and inspire supporters to deepen their commitment to NRC's mission. To help us achieve this, we are looking for a Donor Journey & Lifecycle Specialist to join our Private Fundraising team. This role sits at the intersection of fundraising, technology, donor experience, and data. Using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, you will design and optimize donor journeys and lifecycle communications that strengthen retention of our monthly donors, support donor value growth, win back lapsing donors, and help build sustainable long-term funding across multiple markets.

We are looking for someone with hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience, a business-oriented mindset, and a passion for donor experience, fundraising, and data-driven decision making. You are comfortable translating fundraising objectives into effective donor journeys and lifecycle communications that improve retention and donor value. Please note that prior hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience is required for this role.

What you will do:

Here are some of your specific responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and implementing donor journeys and content products that engage and inform regular donors across markets/languages including Norway, Sweden, Germany, global (English).

  • Build, operationalize and optimise journeys and campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including A/B testing, performance analysis and continuous improvement.

  • Identify and contribute to the continuous development of key metrics, to better understand and develop our business.

  • Based on metrics and best practice assess new models to enable recruiting, strengthen loyalty, and increase income and profit.

  • Contribute to segmentation definitions and the analysis of these segments.

  • Develop activities that will increase loyalty and growth and monitor results.

  • Identify, develop, and test journeys that will contribute to fundraising performance and profitability, including onboarding, lapsing donations, upgrade, stewardship and reactivation journeys.

  • Contribute to donor growth activities including upgrading, reactivation and stewardship initiatives for the NRC regular donor base.

  • Contribute to business insights that help define the fundraising and donor strategy.

  • Contribute to management of information and analytics to increase efficiency and fundraising performance, as related to marketing automation.

  • Provide predictive and descriptive models to use for campaigns and automated fundraising and marketing initiatives for Next Best Action, as related to marketing automation

  • Produce benchmarking and best practice analysis of fundraising and growth performance, as related to marketing automation.

  • Recommend improvement and innovation initiatives based on insights, and lead execution through task forces in a cross functional team.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and donor journeys

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience

  • Excellent analytic skills and ability to presenting results 

  • Documented experience with and thorough understanding of content and performance marketing

  • Skills to use English as a working language

  • Excellent communications and marketing skills, including strong writing and editing abilities, knowledge of email marketing best practices, and understanding of donor-centric approach

  • Knowledge of and experience working with Salesforce and Tableau

  • Understanding of data modelling and data design

  • Documented abilities to form hypotheses based on results from analysis

  • Documented results in improving results and performance within donor lifecycle management 

  • Ability to multi-task and work with short deadlines.

What we offer:

  • Duty station: NRC HO in Oslo or Rep Offices in Berlin and/or London. 

  • Contract: 2 years.     

  • Travel: 10%.

  • Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC’s Resident salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
