Overview of position

Under the direct supervision of the TPM Area Coordinator, Field Monitor will undertake the following duties and responsibilities as mentioned on this TOR.

Role objectives
  • Conduct activities assigned in alignment with our client’s requirements. This includes, but is not limited to Warehouse/CP Stock Monitoring, Activity Implementation Monitoring, Food/CBT Distribution Monitoring. Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM), RPME Survey, Qualitative Research (FGD), etc.

  • Before going to field, ensure the review and understanding of the previous monitoring reports, project related documents and other necessary documentation.

  • Upon assignment to monitoring activity, coordinate with the relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to cooperating partners, community, financial service providers, etc.

  • Upon identification/observation of issues that require immediate and real-time reporting, report them to our clients Area Office through Service Provider internal channels and, if necessary, directly to our clients Programme Monitoring Focal point.

  • Take corrective action, guide, provide technical support, and advise staff of cooperating partners and other relevant stakeholders while monitoring activities in line with the our clients programme guidelines and SOPs. Document and report the same through relevant reporting channels.

  • Ensure that efficiency and effectiveness are considered in the usage of our clients resources, such as transport cost, DSA, computers, telephones, etc.

  • Demonstrate professional behavior, treat beneficiaries and all stakeholders with respect and dignity.

  • Conduct the assigned missions with integrity, honesty and objectivity.

  • Ensure adherence to data protection principles while handling beneficiaries and other our clients related data.

  • Provide photographic evidence of the activities cited above while visiting.

  • Submit periodic field monitoring reports (process monitoring checklists, PDM forms, etc.) through our clients' corporate tool (MoDa or KOBO) and in line with their monitoring and reporting procedures and guidelines.

  • Undertake any other activities related to our clients TPM interventions as and when requested.

Project reporting

This role will work under the direct supervision of the TPM Area Coordinator.

Key competencies

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Sociology, Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Public Health, Development/Humanitarian studies or relevant area.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in monitoring and data collection.

Knowledge and skills

  • Demonstrate strong management, communication, coordination, teamwork and planning skills with proven ability to function effectively with multiple stakeholders.

  • Good knowledge of the context, especially in terms of security, and culture and having unimpeded access to all the interventions’ areas of the relevant Field Office of our client.

  • Strong knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standards and awareness of gender and protection of vulnerable groups.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to clearly synthesize and present findings.

  • Experience utilizing computer (MS Word, MS Excel, Typing, etc.) and smart phone including word processing and knowledge on remote data collection using KOBO, ODK, MoDa, etc.

  • Very good written and oral English. Experience in usage of digital data collection platforms, i.e., MoDa, KOBO, ONA etc.

This roie has no team management responsibility.
