Monitoring and Programme Support Officer
Overview
Monitoring and Programme Support Officer is the focal point for maintaining project monitoring systems, performance tracking, and reporting requirements, including the consolidation of programme performance information to meet the standards and timely requirements of the GCF-Knuckles project. The officer shall facilitate efficient office operations by supporting the secretarial, administrative, and coordination functions to complement and strengthen core responsibilities related to the position.
Duties and responsibilities
Project Monitoring, Evaluation
and Research Support
Support the design and implementation of the project’s Monitoring,
Evaluation and Learning (MEL) activitiesDevelop relevant formats and attend to data collection and monitor
project indicators in line with the project results frameworkMonitor project progress and document project results against agreed
targetsSupport baseline assessments, surveys, evaluations, and ongoing
monitoring activitiesEnsure data quality and compliance with established standards and
proceduresSynthesize findings and prepare reports, presentations, briefs, and
other knowledge productsProvide capacity building to project staff and partners on MEL
concepts, tools, and systems as required
Project Coordination and
Reporting Support
Assist the project manager
and research team when required to:
Support the development and updating of project work plans and
implementation schedulesCoordinate and communicate key findings, lessons learned, and
performance insights to the wider project teamContribute to the preparation of work plans, progress reports,
financial reports, and other project documentsMaking presentations at project review meetings, workshops, and
stakeholder consultations
Office and Operations Support
Assist the country director
by:
Supporting the coordination and implementation of Landscape Alliance
projects in Sri LankaMaintaining programme-related records, databases, and filing systems
Liaising with internal teams, formal communications with project
partners, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and
timely programme executionProviding logistical support for project-related activities; workshops,
training sessions, stakeholder meetings, and field visitsMaintenance and updating of the data repository
Performing other tasks assigned by the Country Director
Education, knowledge and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in agricultural economics, management, economics, forestry or other relevant fields
- Master’s degree in development studies, social sciences or economics or relevant field will be an asset
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning, research or other relevant fields
Terms and conditions
- This is a vacancy for Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) positions. Landscape Alliance offers competitive remuneration in local currency, commensurate with skills and experience.
- The appointment will be for 6 (six) months with the possibility of extension contingent upon performance, continued relevance of the position, and available resources.
- The duty station will be in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
