About IRRI

Job Purpose

The National Consultant – Innovation Systems Associate will provide technical and operational support in advancing initiatives related to digital transformation, innovation scaling, human-centered design, and agricultural innovation systems. The role will contribute to the development, implementation, and dissemination of innovative approaches that strengthen institutional capacity and support evidence-based decision-making across various projects and programs.

Key responsibilities include conducting knowledge synthesis and analysis, curating and managing knowledge resources, profiling innovations, mapping stakeholders and innovation ecosystems, preparing technical reports, and developing knowledge products that support program implementation, scaling strategies, and organizational learning.

The consultant will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to support initiatives in digital agriculture, AI-enabled advisory systems, scaling readiness, and human-centered design. Through these efforts, the consultant will help enhance the effectiveness, adoption, and impact of innovations that contribute to sustainable agricultural development and transformation.

This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines, and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Innovation Systems and Scaling Support
    • Conduct desk research and literature reviews
    • Support innovation profiling activities and documentation
    • Assist in stakeholder mapping and ecosystem analysis
    • Support implementation of scaling readiness assessments and related activities
  • Digital Transformation and Human-Centered Design Support
    • Support documentation and synthesis of activities related to digital agriculture, AI-enabled advisory systems, and HCD initiatives
    • Utilize AI-assisted workflows for knowledge management, qualitative analysis, and information synthesis.
    • Assist in developing learning materials, summaries, and internal knowledge resources
  • Knowledge Synthesis and Reporting
    • Prepare meeting summaries, workshop reports, briefing notes, and knowledge products
    • Consolidate information from interviews, workshops, consultations, and project documents.
    • Draft reports related to Innovation Packages and Scaling Readiness (IPSR), innovation profiles, strategy briefs, and technical documentation
    • Support preparation of presentations and communication materials
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Communication, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Fresh graduates and early-career professionals (0–3 years of experience) are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in research, communications, knowledge management, development projects, or innovation-related activities is an advantage.
