The Scope

To strengthen our global Finance function, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant who acts as a global subject matter expert for accounting, financial governance, and record-to-report processes, with responsibility for maintaining and continuously improving FSC’s accounting framework and standards. The role ensures the consistent application of accounting principles across entities and systems while strengthening governance, compliance, and audit readiness. It also drives process harmonization and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across global finance operations. In addition, the position plays a key role in supporting the implementation and long-term development of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system, contributing to the design of finance processes, internal controls, reporting structures, and data governance standards. Working closely with internal teams, external auditors, and implementation partners, the role supports the development of a standardized, compliant, and future-ready global finance function aligned with FSC’s strategic objectives.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain FSC’s global accounting policies, standards, and governance framework.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting principles across all entities and systems.
  • Manage financial accounting activities, including complex transactions, reconciliations, and closing processes.
  • Support financial reporting and preparation of financial statements.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and control issues.
  • Act as main contact for external and tax audits, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
  • Lead and improve end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
  • Drive process standardization, harmonization, and continuous improvement across global finance.
  • Support Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP implementation, including design, UAT, data migration, and rollout.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, risk management, and compliance frameworks are in place.
  • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives (ERP, automation, process improvements, governance enhancements).

Your profile

  • Professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. 
  • Certified Financial Accountant, Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK), or equivalent qualification preferred. 
  • Additional certifications in accounting, finance, audit, or process management are advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in financial accounting. 
  • Strong experience in accounting governance, financial reporting, and process improvement. 
  • Demonstrated experience designing or improving accounting processes and controls.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working within international or matrix organizations is highly desirable.
  • Experience interacting with auditors and managing audit requirements.

  • Ability to balance operational execution with strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong ERP experience (SAP Business ByDesign preferred; Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar is an advantage).
  • Professional fluency in English and German; additional languages (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.

The Fine Print

  • Location: Bonn, Germany. 

  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.

  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance)
