The International Potato
Center (CIP) is seeking a proactive, service-oriented, and responsible Administration, Tuorism and Hospitality Support Intern to be part of the Campus Shared Services team.
The Center: CIP is a not-for-profit international
agricultural research-for-development organization with a focus on potato,
sweet potato, and Andean roots and tubers. Its vision is of roots and tubers
improving the lives of the poor. CIP is dedicated to achieving food security,
improved well-being, and gender equity for poor people in root and tuber
farming and food systems of the developing world. CIP works with partners to
contribute high quality science, technology, and capacity strengthening for
sustainable science-based solutions. CIP is headquartered in Lima, Peru, with
staff and activities in over 30 locations across Asia, Africa, and Latin
America. CIP is a member of the CGIAR. CGIAR is a global agriculture research
partnership for a food secure future. Its science is carried out by the 15
research centers who are members of the CGIAR is a network that works in
collaboration with hundreds of partner organizations.
The
position: This
position will be based in Lima, Peru, and will report directly to the Campus
Shared Services Officer.
Duties and Accountabilities:
The intern will be involved in the following training activities:
·Support the management of the dormitory booking tool, ensuring
guest accommodation meet quality, safety, and institutional standards.
·Assist in coordinating logistics for guest stays, including room
assignments, special requests, and follow-up to ensure a positive guest
experience.
·Support the development of CIP-branded merchandise by liaising
with vendors and assisting with sales activities.
·Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting campus tours for
external visitors and organizations.
·Contribute to the preparation of informational materials, such as
welcome kits, guest guides, and signage.
·Liaise with internal departments (e.g., maintenance, security, and
catering) to support smooth campus operations.
·Receive training in best practices related to cleaning procedures,
guest services, and other relevant operational protocols.
·Maintain records of guest stays and support reporting activities.
Requirements
Selection Criteria:
·Currently pursuing 9th or 10th Semester or recently completed studies in Business
Administration, Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
·Belonging to the upper third of
their faculty
·Strong organizational and
communication skills.
·Basic knowledge of guest service
principles.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office
and/or Google Workspace.
·Ability to work collaboratively in
a multicultural environment.
·Strong attention to detail and a
high sense of responsibility.
·Flexibility to adapt to changing
priorities and schedules.
·Enthusiastic, proactive, and
motivated to contribute to a service-oriented environment.
·Proficiency in English and Spanish
is preferred.
