JOB TITLE: Operational Information Management & Reporting Officer
TYPE OF CONTRACT/Grade: Fixed Term, NOA
UNIT/DIVISION: External Partnerships and Communication
DUTY STATION (City, Country): Kigali/Rwanda
DURATION: 12 months renewable
ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations frontline agency fighting hunger. WFP reaches more than 150 million people per year - delivering humanitarian food assistance and working with smallholder farmers, communities, and governments to improve nutrition and build resilience to crises. As conflict, climate change and economic shocks drive up the number of hungry people in Eastern Africa, finding innovative solutions to the complex humanitarian and development challenges in the region is essential, now perhaps more than ever.
In Rwanda, WFP supports the Government with its ambitious goals to ensure food security and nutrition and equitable access to sustainable livelihoods for all. In this effort, WFP Rwanda works closely with diverse stakeholders to provide general food and nutrition assistance to over 135,000 refugees, asylum seekers and returnees; to strengthen national disaster risk management, social protection, school meals and nutrition programmes; to transform food systems; and to support emergency preparedness and response.
This position is based in the Rwanda Country Office and reports to the Head of Partnerships, Communications, and Reporting.
The Operational Information Management & Reporting Officer is responsible for ensuring the availability of accurate, timely, and actionable information that supports operational decision-making, donor reporting, and strategic positioning.
In a context characterized by multi-sectoral programming, hybrid assistance modalities (cash and in-kind), strong government-led coordination, and increasing donor focus on accountability and results, the OIM & Reporting Officer will provide an integrated approach to data management, analysis, and reporting, ensuring a coherent and credible presentation of WFP’s operational performance and impact. The role requires strong coordination with programme, supply chain, and technical units.
JOB PURPOSE
The Reporting Officer ensures that WFP Rwanda delivers high-quality, timely, and strategic reporting that demonstrates results and impact, meets donor and corporate requirements, and strengthens WFP’s positioning with government and partners. Maintain a “common operating picture” of WFP Rwanda operations to inform management decisions.

Develop and maintain country-level dashboards (beneficiaries reached, funding gaps, pipeline status).
Produce regular operational updates, briefs, and visual products for senior management and external stakeholders.
Translate complex data into clear, user-friendly visuals and key messages.

Maintain repository of reports, dashboards, and key information products.
Document best practices, lessons learned, and case studies.
Support the development of standardized templates, tools, and reporting guidance.

Experience contributing to reporting, analytical, or strategic outputs, such as reports, briefs, dashboards, proposals, or knowledge products, in support of decision-making or external engagement.
Demonstrated ability to translate data and technical content into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate communication, including for senior management and external partners.
Experience applying data, analysis, or evidence to inform planning, communication, or operational decisions.
