Context
The UNOPS North Africa Multi Country office is responsible for managing strategic and operational risks associated with the Multi Country office’s portfolio of engagements (in Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Algeria, Egypt, Madagascar, Sychelle, Comoros and Mauritius) – setting up, developing and delivering cost effective services contributing to partners' sustainable results and achievements of UNOPS management results.
UNOPS North Africa Multi Country office activities range from tailor-made administration, operations, human resources and logistics support for implementation of development and humanitarian projects; infrastructure and procurement management services; and advisory services to partners (in Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Algeria, Egypt, Madagascar, Sychelle, Comoros and Mauritius) to facilitate effective procurement, supply and financial management.
Partners include the Government of Tunisia, European Union, KOICA, World Bank and UN agencies such as UNHCR and WHO. It provides project management services including design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. It also offers funds management, loan and grant administration, public, building local capacity markets, training and technical assistance.

Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Director and indirect supervision of the Head of Support
Services, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
1. Programme management support, stakeholder coordination, and inter-agency
collaboration
2. Knowledge management and document management
Key Results Expected
1. Programme management support, stakeholder coordination, and inter-agency
collaboration
● Assist in tracking programme results against targets, alert relevant management if
delivery is not on track, compile data and draft reports to internal and external
stakeholders and support the management team to prepare for internal reviews.
● Prepare written summaries of meetings/visits and follow up with relevant team
members to implement follow-up actions, as appropriate; support in research and
prepare analytical, and sometimes sensitive, documents for the management team.
● Support coordination and communication with UN, international organizations,
donors, governments as directed by supervisor.
● Support preparation for coordination meetings, including drafting materials and
recording meeting notes.
● Support design, coordination and dissemination of public information products and
communication activities as well as gather and draft content for communications
products and platforms.
● Support preparations for official meetings, events, briefings, and field visits, and
prepare talking points, briefing notes, presentations and speeches for the
management team and senior UN officials.
2. Knowledge management and document management
● Maintain records of programme files and other necessary programme documents
such as documentation of decisions and actions taken on programme issues.
● Contribute to the implementation of the relevant standards, tools and templates to
effectively manage programme development and implementation.
● Contribute to, record and share the ongoing development and implementation of best
practice, lessons identified, and innovative approaches to improve overall programme
performance
● Contribute to the management and upkeep of risk management and issue
management logs and processes.
During the first month of the assignment, the UN Volunteer will work closely with his/her
direct supervisor to finalize an agreed-upon work plan. The work plan should outline key
objectives and activities and include regular check-ins with the supervisor to review progress
and receive performance
