ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
WFP Philippines works across a range of humanitarian and development programmes, generating a continuous need for high-quality visual communications, knowledge products, and programme materials. The Partnerships, Communications and Reports (PCR) team leads the Country Office’s external and internal communications, donor reporting, advocacy, and brand management functions. The PCR team ensures that WFP Philippines’ work is communicated effectively and consistently to a diverse range of stakeholders, including government partners, donors, beneficiaries, and the public, in line with WFP’s global brand standards and communications guidelines.


JOB PURPOSE
The Partnerships, Communications and Reports (PCR) Unit leads WFP Philippines' external communications, advocacy, donor visibility, reporting, and brand management efforts. The team develops a wide range of communications and knowledge products that support programme delivery, resource mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and public outreach. As demand continues to grow for high-quality visual content across digital, print, and multimedia platforms, WFP Philippines requires dedicated design capacity to ensure communications materials remain engaging, professional, and aligned with WFP corporate branding standards.

The Communications Associate (Graphic Designer) will support the development of visual assets and knowledge products for diverse audiences, while helping strengthen brand consistency across materials produced by the Country Office and external partners. Working closely with programme teams, communications colleagues, government counterparts, donors, and creative vendors, this role will contribute to the design, production, quality assurance, and management of visual communications materials that showcase WFP's work and support its strategic objectives in the Philippines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive nor exhaustive)
Under the delegated authority and within the assigned unit, the Communications Associate (Graphic Designer) will report to the Communications Officer, with overall guidance from the Head of Partnerships, Communications and Reports (PCR).


VISUAL DESIGN AND BRAND MANAGEMENT
The Graphic Designer will establish and maintain visual design standards for the Country Office, ensuring
consistency and quality across all materials produced by or on behalf of WFP Philippines.
• Develop and maintain design templates, style guides, and asset libraries in alignment with WFP global brand
standards and visual identity guidelines.
• Ensure all design outputs adhere to WFP branding requirements, including the correct use of logos, color
palettes, typography, and iconography.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and external vendors on the application of WFP visual identity standards.
• Maintain a versioned library of design assets, templates, and final files accessible to the Country Office team.


DESIGN OF PROGRAMME AND LEARNING MATERIALS
The Graphic Designer will lead the design and visual production of programme materials, learning tools, and
knowledge products in support of Country Office operations and programme teams.
• Design and produce donor-facing products, corporate reports, presentations, and advocacy materials in line
with WFP brand and style standards.
• Develop visual assets for internal and external communications, including infographics, social media assets,
and campaign materials.
• Provide design support for WFP events, launches, and advocacy activities.


COORDINATION WITH PARTNERS AND VENDORS
The Graphic Designer will serve as the primary in-house design liaison with external partners, stakeholders, and
creative vendors engaged by WFP Philippines.
• Communicate design standards, brand requirements, and creative briefs to external partners and vendors
on behalf of WFP, ensuring alignment with both WFP and partner branding guidelines where applicable.
• Review partner and vendor outputs for design consistency, with technical content reviewed by the relevant
unit and the final visual look cleared by Communications before endorsement to the Country Director.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, including government, cooperating partners, and creative firms,
throughout the production cycle to manage revision rounds and ensure timely delivery of quality outputs.


QUALITY ASSURANCE AND REVISION MANAGEMENT
The Graphic Designer will support design quality assurance, with technical review by the relevant unit and final visual clearance by Communications before endorsement to the Country Director.
• Conduct quality checks on all design outputs prior to submission or publication, including resolution
verification, color accuracy, layout integrity, and brand compliance.
• Maintain version control of all design files and final outputs, ensuring traceability of revisions across projects.
• Perform any other design and communications tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Communications
Officer in support of the PCR team and the broader Country Office.

DELIVERABLES
The following deliverables are expected from the Communications Associate (Graphic Designer) over the 12-month contract period:
1. Country Office Design Templates: Practical templates and design assets for Country Office materials, developed
and maintained in line with WFP’s Visual Identity Guide.
2. Programme and Learning Materials: Print-ready and screen-optimized design outputs in support of Country
Office teams, including facilitator guides, learning tools, household materials, and other programme-specific
products, as directed by the supervisor.
3. Communications and Knowledge Products: Donor-facing products, institutional reports, presentations,
infographics, social media assets, advocacy and campaign materials, and event support materials.
4. External Partner Design Outputs: Design review reports and coordinated outputs produced in collaboration
with external partners, vendors, and government counterparts, ensuring alignment with agreed brand and
design standards.
5. Design Asset Library: A versioned and organized library of all design assets, templates, and final files developed
over the contract period, made accessible to the Country Office team.
6. Other design and communications outputs as may be required in support of the Country Office.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education

• Completion of secondary school education is required. A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, fine arts, multimedia arts, or a closely related field is highly desirable.
• Specialized training or certification in instructional design, visual communication for development, or social behavior change communication is an advantage.

Experience

A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field, particularly in the design of educational, health, or development communication materials.
• Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.), and Canva Pro is required.
• Experience or familiarity with nutrition, food security, livelihood, or skills and productivity programming is an advantage, particularly in the context of social protection or community-based programmes.
• Demonstrated experience designing materials for low-literacy and/or marginalized populations in a development or humanitarian context.
• Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, or government programs in the Philippines is desirable.
• Experience coordinating with external vendors or creative firms is an advantage.

Language

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Filipino (Tagalog)

Compensation Package Overview:
