The Position:
Under the direct supervision of the Communications Specialist and the overall guidance of the Regional Communications Adviser, the intern will support the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Asia-Pacific Regional Office (APRO) team in coordinating regional campaigns, creating and editing web editorial content, engaging with digital audiences, and tracking analytics. They will also support content planning, event coordination, and provide logistical and administrative communications assistance, as required. A work plan with achievements and learning opportunities for the duration of the Internship will be agreed upon. Periodic progress meetings will foster a supportive environment for the Intern, enhancing their skills and capacity in areas related to UNFPA’s mandate.

You would be responsible for:
- Supporting daily coordination of UNFPA APRO’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube), including preparation, scheduling, and monitoring of approved content.
- Assisting in the drafting and editing of communication materials such as stories, web features, and social media posts.
- Assisting in the coordination of UNFPA APRO's communications campaigns;
- Providing logistical and administrative communications support for on-the-ground activities in Thailand as part of the regional and global agenda;
- Assisting in copy editing blogs and articles to maintain high editorial standards and consistency in messaging;
- Collecting information from country offices on upcoming content to keep the content planner and social media planner updated.
- Monitoring UNFPA's digital performance across platforms and producing monthly analytics reports;
- Providing additional communications support as needed, including research, organizing files, and assisting with online and offline event coordination.
Qualifying for an Internship
Educational requirements
a. Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme, or
b. Second-year or above students of a first university degree programme, or c. Recent university graduates (if selected) must start the internship within one year of graduation
Other eligibility requirements
d. Demonstrate interest in the field of development;
e. Demonstrate written and spoken proficiency in English (working language of the office). f. Demonstrate ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
You Have:
Your Education: Background in communications, journalism, international relations or other relevant fields.
· Some experience (including volunteer work) with the UN, development agencies, NGOs, or community initiatives.
· Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
· Familiarity with social media management and digital communications tools. · Initiative, sound judgment, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cultures.

Financial Aspects:
Interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. The costsassociated with an intern's participation in the programme must be assumed either by thenominating institution, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students, or bythe students themselves, who will have to meet living expenses as well as make their ownarrangements for accommodation, travel and other requirements. However, they receive astipend to help cover basic daily expenses related to the internship, if not financially supportedby any institution or programme, such as a university, government, foundation, or scholarshipprogramme. The stipend is based on the intern’s agreed place of work, which may be differentfrom the duty station of the hiring office in cases of remote arrangements.
In addition, applicants must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship. Proof ofinsurance will need to be submitted before the internship begins. UNFPA does not providemedical insurance for interns.
