Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator in Guatemala the individual contractor shall support UNODC in the following tasks and substantive duties: A. Elaboration of Scripts, Character Profiles, and Scenarios. The individual contractor shall design and develop scripts and realistic simulation scenarios aligned with the objectives of the TIP and money laundering training courses. This includes creating comprehensive character profiles outlining background, motivations, behavioral patterns, and contextual elements relevant to the exercise. The scripts and scenarios must reflect situations that support experiential learning and allow participants to apply technical knowledge. Revisions shall be made as necessary based on feedback from the training coordination team. The individual contractor shall participate in preparatory meetings organized prior to the training sessions. These meetings will serve to review training objectives in each country (El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras), clarify roles and expectations, coordinate scenario details, and ensure alignment with facilitators and subject matter experts. The individual contractor is expected to actively contribute to discussions and integrate technical guidance into the final performance plan. B. Performance of Assigned Roles in Simulation Scenarios in Two (2) Training Courses. The individual contractor shall perform the assigned roles during simulation exercises in two (2) training courses. Performances must be realistic, consistent with the approved scripts, and adaptable to participant interaction. The individual contractor shall maintain professionalism at all times and ensure that portrayals effectively support the learning objectives. C. Documentation of the training session. The individual contractor shall document participation in training sessions through the agreed formats that comprehensively capture the participants' training process, including both theoretical and practical components. This documentation will include the implementation of the simulation exercises and results achieved in the 3 beneficiary countries of the project.
Qualifications/special skills
• High school diploma or equivalent is required. • Formal acting training or degree in performing arts, theater, drama, communications, or related field is desirable. • Minimum of three (3) years of acting experience in theater, film, television, or applied performance settings is required. • Demonstrated experience in role-play or simulation exercises for training, capacity-building, or educational purposes is required. • Proven ability to develop scripts and create realistic character profiles tailored to specific learning objectives is desirable. • Experience working with international organizations, government institutions, NGOs, or academic institutions is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in Spanish, oral and written proficiency, is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
