Mission and objectives

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfil their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. And we never give up.

Context

The UNICEF Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO) Digital Impact team supports 24 Country Offices in advancing digital transformation as a strategic enabler of programme impact, operational efficiency, and scale. Digital transformation is a cross-cutting priority that spans ICT, data, and digital programme initiatives, requiring coordination, visibility, and structured knowledge sharing across countries and sectors.

While substantial work is ongoing across the region, knowledge is often fragmented, visibility of results remains limited, and access to relevant tools, guidance, and lessons learned is inconsistent. This assignment aims to strengthen the Digital Impact team’s capacity in knowledge management, communications, and reporting by: 1/ Improving access to and organization of knowledge products 2/ Increasing visibility of digital initiatives and results 3/ Supporting structured reporting and regional consolidation 4/ Facilitating knowledge sharing and cross-country learning.

The UNV Specialist modality provides a cost-effective and flexible solution to address immediate gaps in knowledge management, visibility, and reporting capacity within the increasingly strategic Digital Impact function.
