Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
Organizational Context and Scope
Bajo la supervisión general de la Jefatura de Misión (COM) en la República Dominicana, Santo Domingo, y la supervisión directa de la Senior Finance Assistant y, en colaboración con las unidades pertinentes de la Sede y la Administración, el conductor será responsable de proporcionar un transporte seguro y eficiente, mantener el vehículo en buenas condiciones y cumplir con las normas de tráfico, representando a la organización de manera profesional y garantizando un servicio fiable en cada viaje.
Responsibilities
1.Conducir los vehículos asignados a la oficina de la OIM.
2.Gestionar el mantenimiento diario de los vehículos asignados para garantizar su buen estado de funcionamiento. Esto incluye la revisión diaria de los neumáticos, los frenos, el aceite del motor, la correa del ventilador, entre otros.
3.Organizar las reparaciones menores y garantizar que los vehículos se mantengan limpios.
4.Garantizar que los vehículos se sometan a revisiones periódicas.
5.Llevar un registro de las piezas de repuesto de los vehículos y realizar un inventario mensual de las mismas.
6.Encontrar la ruta más directa y segura por las mejores carreteras disponibles hasta el destino.
7.Asegurarse de que los vehículos de la OIM se utilicen únicamente para asuntos oficiales/autorizados, según las indicaciones del supervisor.
8.Asegurarse de que se prepare la hoja de registro diario y se elabore un informe mensual que resuma las estadísticas relacionadas con el kilometraje, el consumo de combustible, etc. del vehículo.
9.Mantener un alto grado de confidencialidad y discreción en las conversaciones que involucren a la OIM y a sus funcionarios. Tomar las medidas adecuadas para reducir las posibles amenazas a la seguridad de los funcionarios y/o los bienes de la OIM en las inmediaciones del vehículo y a lo largo de las rutas de transporte.
10.Recoger y entregar correo, documentos, valijas y otras comunicaciones/artículos desde y hacia la oficina en el país; acudir a la oficina de correos, el aeropuerto, organismos gubernamentales, otros organismos de las Naciones Unidas, instituciones, emplazamientos de proyectos, etc., para recoger y entregar artículos y comunicaciones; llevar los registros necesarios.
11.Cuando sea necesario, ayudar al personal de la oficina nacional en la realización de tareas administrativas sencillas, como hacer y responder llamadas telefónicas, hacer fotocopias, llevar registros, etc.
12.Realizar otras tareas que se le asignen.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
•Certificado de educación secundaria o título universitario otorgado por una institución acreditada.
•Licencia de conducir nacional válido.
Experience
•Un mínimo de 5 años de experiencia como conductor.
•Conocimiento de las normas y reglamentos de conducción.
•Experiencia en la conducción de vehículos de diversas marcas y modelos (mecánico y automático.
•Habilidades para realizar pequeñas reparaciones en vehículos.
•Conocimiento de radio, correo electrónico, teléfono y otras aplicaciones.
Skills
•Conocimiento de las normas y señales de tráfico.
•Conducción segura y responsable.
•Conocimiento de la operación de vehículos tanto manuales y automáticos.
•Conocimientos básicos de mecánica.
•Alto nivel de responsabilidad.
•Honestidad y fiabilidad.
•Puntualidad.
Languages
Los idiomas oficiales de la OIM son el inglés, el francés y el español.
REQUISITO
Para este puesto, se requiere dominio del español (oral y escrito).
DESEABLE
Conocimientos básicos de inglés.
