About the role

Overall purpose of the role:

  • Provide supervised field and administrative support for KFW and EU Economic Recovery activities, including community engagement, registration/verification, assessments, training support, data entry, documentation and follow-up.
  • Learn DRC/donor procedures through coaching and gradually perform basic assistant-level tasks without approval, budget-holding, cash-handling or final beneficiary-selection authority.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of KFW and EU Economic Recovery activities according to approved workplans, SOPs and tools under close supervision.
  • Assist in community entry, sensitisation, beneficiary registration, verification, needs assessments, market assessments, CBPP/NRM consultations and feedback collection.
  • Support trainings and livelihood activities, including life skills, business skills, vocational training, agriculture/post-harvest, SRFF, women groups, WUCs, biogas and business follow-up.
  • Prepare/check field documentation and support Kobo/Excel data entry, cleaning, uploading and archiving for beneficiary, training, distribution and monitoring records.
  • Support field monitoring, coaching visits and beneficiary communication, and escalate protection, access, quality or implementation issues immediately.
  • Assist coordination with local authorities, community committees, women representatives, BCHR/NMO, service providers and relevant DRC teams.
  • Apply DRC Code of Conduct, PSEAH, safeguarding, data protection, AAP, do-no-harm and safe referral principles, and follow safety instructions.

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Fresh graduate or early-career candidate from Al Turbah / Al Shamayatien or nearby targeted areas.
  • Graduation year should not be more than three years before the application date.
  • No previous formal humanitarian experience is required; volunteering, community work, data collection or field support is an advantage.
  • Highly motivated, disciplined, willing to learn and enthusiastic about humanitarian work and women economic empowerment.
  • Basic understanding of the local context and culturally appropriate communication with women and community members.
  • Basic computer skills are required, especially MS Word, Excel, email and smartphone/Kobo data collection; basic English is preferred.
  • Able to carry out field visits to targeted communities[TK1] [AM2] , respect confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries with beneficiaries and partners.

Education: (include certificates, licenses etc.)

  • High school certificate is required as a minimum.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, particularly in civil engineering, agriculture, water/environment, business administration, social sciences, IT or related fields; other fields are accepted.

Languages: (indicate fluency level)

  • Arabic – fluent, with strong understanding of the local accent.
  • English – basic is preferred.

Contract length:  December 31, 2026

Position Band:  This position will be placed in the non-management band. Reports to the Recovery Team Leader  

Start date: ASAP

Duty station: Al Turbah -Yemen

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s National Terms of Employment.
