Under the direct supervision of the Head of Administration in UNEP Asia and the Pacific Office, the consultant will support the design, enhancement, maintenance and operational delivery of information systems, dashboards, digital tools and knowledge platforms, and will be responsible for the following assignments and outputs: 1. Unified Asia Pacific Financial and Management Dashboard 2. Digital Tool Adoption and Internal Automation Solutions for Regional Office Operations 3. Copilot AI based solution for Correspondence, Brief Generation and Knowledge Search 4. ICT and Event Coordination Support for UNEP Events in the Region 5. Successful Roll-out of UNEP Initiatives, Tools and Platforms in ROAP

Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP’s Asia and the Pacific Office geographically serve 41 countries across the region to promote and implement sustainable development solutions. It assists countries of the region pursue sustainability, particularly in their implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development including technical expertise, facilitating access to finance, undertaking cutting-edge science-policy assessments, offering advisory services and strengthening laws, policies, management and governance. UNEP works with national and local authorities, civil society, other UN organizations, research institutions and the private sector to catalyse the efficient use of the region’s natural assets and reduce the degradation of the environment. This consultancy will support UNEP ROAP in strengthening information systems, reporting, digital transformation and knowledge management through unified dashboard reporting using Umoja Analytics and Power BI; ICT asset management and policy compliance support; digital tool adoption and internal automation solutions for Regional Office operations; maintenance and management of the ROAP digital repository; ICT support for regional events.
Qualifications/special skills
• An advanced university degree in computer science, information systems, information management, data analytics, business analytics, data science or a related field is desirable. • A first-level university degree in combination with 2 years of additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree, in accordance with applicable UN practice. • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of information systems, reporting platforms or related digital solutions is required. • Experience in business process analysis, dashboard development, user requirements gathering, systems support, documentation, user training and the delivery of data-driven reporting outputs is required. • Experience working in Asia and the Pacific region, including with regional or subregional institutions, is desirable. • Experience with enterprise reporting tools, business intelligence platforms, automation tools, SharePoint-based repositories and AI-enabled productivity tools is desirable. • Experience working in a multicultural environment, including within the United Nations system or other international organizations, is desirable. • Demonstrated proficiency in information management systems, data visualization, dashboard design, digital workflow automation, technical documentation, user support and training, and the practical application of AI-enabled productivity tools is desirable.
Languages
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. • For this consultancy, fluency in oral and written English is required. • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
