Overview: The Field Officer will play a vital day-to-day role in providing donors and recipients with GiveDirectly's cash transfer product. The Field Officer will be responsible for administering the recipient surveys and related processes that facilitate GiveDirectly's unique money transfer model. This role will foster quality judgment on operational issues and challenges, a work ethic, communication skills and a strong commitment to the GiveDirectly mission and model.
Responsibilities
- Census team
- Ensure every household on the roster is reached
- Complete census surveys using smart phones with accurate data
- Verify survey responses and minimize errors to improve data quality
- Verify that tokens and other materials are correctly distributed to households by accurately identifying each household
- Deliver and track registration of SIM cards to all recipients
- Registration team
- Explain GiveDirectly’s program to all eligible households
- Identify and eliminate ineligible households
- Complete surveys using smart phones with accurate data
- Audit team
- In cases of fraud or irregularities, administer surveys to households to determine whether the household should be enrolled in the program
- Follow up team
- Conduct Follow up surveys with recipients who have received their transfers, remotely and on site
- Identify and report cases of safeguarding, extortion, theft, or fraud affecting recipients and report them to Management.
Required qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field
- Minimum two years' experience working with vulnerable communities preferably
- Computer and mobile device data entry knowledge and experience with good typing skills
- Empathy, honesty, and the highest standards of integrity
- Excellent communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English
- Physical fitness and the ability to cope with difficult weather conditions or terrain
- Patience and good judgment in resolving recipient problems
- Strong interest in advancing the distinctive values and mission of GiveDirectly
