The Position: National Programme Support Consultant 

Reporting: The National Programme Support consultant will report to Programme Specialist (SRHR)

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this consultancy is to facilitate the development and implementation of the UNFPA Country Programme by providing comprehensive administrative and programmatic support. Under the direct guidance of the SRHR Specialist, the objective of the position is to contribute effectively to administrative, programmatic, and financial support, and procedural compliance to enhance the delivery of SRHR activities

You would be responsible for:

Administrative and Operational Support:

  • Provide high-level administrative and programmatic support to the Country Office personnel.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements and travel authorizations for programme staff, consultants, and partners as necessary.
  • Maintain a robust filing and archiving system for all Country Office programmes and projects to ensure data integrity.
  • Facilitate security-related clearances and logistical support for incoming missions and international consultants.

     Programmatic and Technical Support: 

  • Monitor programme implementation processes, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and UNFPA quality standards.
  • Summarize technical information and draft contributions for reports, papers, and monitoring plans.
  • Support financial management tasks, including expenditure tracking and processing of routine payments.

    Coordination and Communications:

  • Organize and coordinate agendas for internal meetings, workshops, and high-level conferences.
  • Draft formal correspondence and serve as the secretary for internal committees, maintaining accurate records.
  • Liaise with partners and stakeholders to provide clarifications on routine programmatic and administrative matters.

     

Qualifications and Experience: 


Education:

  • Completed secondary level education is required.
  • A First-level university degree in public administration, finance, or economics is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Experience: 



Minimum of 5 years of previous relevant experience.

  •    Previous experience within the UN system is considered a distinct advantage.
  •     Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  •    High level of computer literacy, with proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  •       Good working knowledge of Atlas / Peoplesoft or alternative ERP systems.
  •      Excellent writing and communication skills.
  •     Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Languages: 

  • Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage. Working knowledge of another UN Official is beneficial.
