In Bangladesh, NRC provides humanitarian assistance to Rohingya refugees living in camps in Cox's Bazar and to vulnerable host communities affected by the prolonged humanitarian crisis. NRC's WASH programme aims to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services while reducing public health risks and promoting a healthy living environment.
The WASH Assistant is based in the Uhiya field office and regular traves to the field and supports the implementation of WASH activities, including water supply, sanitation facility maintenance, hygiene promotion, and community engagement. The role involves monitoring WASH facilities, coordinating with community volunteers and local stakeholders, collecting and reporting field data, and ensuring that activities are implemented effectively and in line with NRC standards.
The role of the WASH Assistant is to assist in implementing WASH activities, support WASH implementation by conducting field outreach with communities, and monitor day-to-day implementation and coordination with WASH and HP Officers.
