About the job

The Protection Information Management Assistant supports the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Referral Management System (RMS). The role focuses on enhancing protection data quality, developing dashboards and data visualizations, providing technical support to users, and ensuring the accurate, timely, and secure management of protection information to strengthen coordinated referrals, programme monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and day-to-day administration of the Referral Management System (RMS).
  • Improve protection data quality through data validation, cleaning, deduplication, verification, and routine quality assurance checks.
  • Monitor referral workflows and support timely resolution of data quality and system issues.
  • Develop and maintain digital data collection tools and support data imports, exports, and system integrations where required.
  • Produce Protection Information Management dashboards, data visualizations, and routine analytical reports to support programme monitoring, coordination, and decision-making.
  • Support the analysis and visualization of protection data to identify trends, gaps, and operational priorities.
  • Provide first-line technical support, user onboarding, and training to staff and partners on the effective use of the RMS and related information management tools.
  • Support system testing, documentation, and rollout of new RMS features and enhancements.
  • Ensure the secure handling, confidentiality, and appropriate sharing of protection information in accordance with DRC policies, data protection principles, and data-sharing agreements.
  • Liaise with programme teams, partners, and system developers to continuously improve the RMS, protection data quality, and reporting processes.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or another relevant field.
  • Relevant certifications in Information Management, Data Analysis, Power BI, KoboToolbox, GIS, or Protection Information Management are an added advantage.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in information management, protection information management, data management, or a related field, preferably within the humanitarian or development sector.
  • Experience supporting information management systems, preferably the Referral Management System (RMS), case management, or other protection information systems.
  • Experience in data quality management, including data validation, cleaning, deduplication, and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI or Excel dashboards.
  • Experience developing and managing digital data collection tools using KoboToolbox or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of data protection, confidentiality, and information-sharing principles applicable to protection programming.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support system users and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Professional communication skills, including social media and other media skills, plus strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential), and familiarity with working in multimedia contexts
  • Understanding of Donor reporting processes

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for

employees on national contract.
