Deliverable 1 – September 2026 • By 30 September 2026, collect, validate, format and integrate into the Trade Map production database the available trade in goods and trade in services datasets for assigned countries, ensuring that all scheduled updates are completed within agreed timelines. Submit a brief monthly processing summary highlighting datasets processed, quality issues identified and corrective actions taken. Deliverable 2 – October 2026 • By 31 October 2026, process and integrate the monthly and newly released trade statistics for assigned countries, applying all required quality assurance checks and documenting any anomalies, methodological deviations or data corrections. Maintain and update the associated processing scripts and technical documentation as required. Deliverable 3 – November 2026 • By 30 November 2026, complete the processing and integration of all assigned trade in goods and services datasets scheduled during the contract period, ensuring that data quality controls have been successfully completed and documented. Submit a final processing report summarizing outputs delivered, improvements introduced and recommendations for subsequent processing cycles. Expected Results Across the Contract • Trade statistics for at least 25 reporting countries have been collected, validated, formatted and integrated into the Trade Map database in accordance with established procedures. • Trade in services data processing procedures have been maintained and updated, ensuring timely publication of available datasets. • Data quality assurance checks have been consistently applied throughout the contract, with processing issues documented and resolved. • Processing scripts, technical documentation and workflow records have been updated to support the continued operational reliability of the Trade Map data processing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization for trade-related technical cooperation in developing countries. ITC’s Trade and Market Intelligence section supports trade policy makers, trade support institutions and enterprises in developing countries in identifying opportunities for product and export market diversification. It does this by developing and maintaining data-driven analytical tools including Trade Map, trade-related analysis methodologies and by offering a wide range of capacity building activities in developing countries. Trade Map provides data on trade flows and market access in a user-friendly and highly flexible way to thousands of users in the developing world. It is a key part of ITCs global public goods in market analysis and research. To retain and increase the value of Trade Map, the team must continually oversee data collection, formatting, and reliability analysis. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Under the overall guidance of the Chief, Trade and Market Intelligence section and the direct supervision of an Associate Quantitative Market Analyst and a Statistician, the incumbent’s duties will contribute to the modernization, maintenance, and operational reliability of ITC’s Trade Map trade data processing environment and associated databases. Under the supervision of the Associate quantitative market analyst, the consultant will perform the following duties: • Gather and document technical and operational requirements from Trade Map team members to develop a comprehensive understanding of existing data processing workflows, business rules, and system dependencies; • Collect, format, transform, and validate large trade datasets received from multiple official sources, including customs administrations, national statistical offices, and international organizations; • Develop, adapt, and maintain data processing programs using SAS, Python, SQL, or similar technologies for the integration of international trade statistics into the Trade Map database; • Apply data quality control procedures to ensure data reliability and integrity; • Update and maintain Trade Map production databases and ensure that data integration processes are completed accurately and within established timelines; • Collaborate closely with Trade Map team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to trade data processing and dissemination activities. In collaboration with the Statistician, for the publication of international trade in services statistics: • Collect yearly and quarterly international trade in services statistics from national sources (e.g. central banks, national statistics offices). • Develop, adapt, and maintain data processing programs using SAS, Python, R or similar technologies for the integration of collected international trade in services statistics into the Trade Map database. • Apply data quality control procedures to ensure data reliability and integrity • Document specific data characteristics, e.g. deviation to the international standards, when relevant. • Answer clients’ specific questions regarding trade in services data published in Trade Map. Copyright Clause: The consultant has to ensure to have obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform their services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the consultant shall request the prior written permission from ITC. Qualifications/special skills

• Masters or equivalent in Statistics, data analysis, econometrics, or economy • Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. • 2 years of experience in Extract, transform, load (ETL) processing • Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment • SAS programming is desirable • Experience in international trade in services statistics is desirable • Experience in customs trade statistics is desirable Skills: • Data processing using Excel and R and/or Python programming • Knowledge of SAS is an asset • Strong analytical capabilities • Critical thinking • Problem solving skills • Innovative • Ability to work independently

Languages

• Fluency in English is required. • Knowledge of French is desirable. • Additional UN language is an asset
