This internship provides a front-row seat to how a global technology organization operates and supports the World Bank Group's development mission. 

Background/Organizational Context  

The World Bank Group (WBG) finances development projects across the globe through three distinct institutions, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association (IBRD/IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency of the World Bank Group delivers a wide portfolio of technology products and services that enable the WBG's development mission. Within ITS, the Fiduciary Operations unit (ITSFD) is responsible for digital solutions that support Procurement, Financial Management, and Environmental and Social Safeguards across World Bank operations.   

About the ITSFD Front Office 

The ITSFD Front Office serves as the operational hub of the unit, supporting leadership and delivery teams across business management, workforce planning, communications, governance, vendor coordination, financial monitoring, onboarding, reporting, and organizational initiatives. 

The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting a technology organization that manages a complex portfolio of products, vendors, and strategic initiatives. The role offers exposure to business operations, project and portfolio management, communications, organizational effectiveness, process improvement, and executive support within a global institution. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Support program management and operational activities across the ITSFD portfolio.  
• Assist with maintaining organizational trackers, dashboards, reports, and knowledge repositories.  
• Support preparation of presentations, briefing materials, status reports, and executive communications.  
• Assist with planning and coordination of unit-wide meetings, town halls, onboarding sessions, and special events.  
• Track action items, decisions, and follow-up activities arising from governance and leadership meetings.  
• Draft and edit internal communications, announcements, newsletters, onboarding materials, and knowledge management content.  
• Support and streamline business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency 
• Support special projects related to workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and operational excellence. 

Selection Criteria

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, an undergraduate or postgraduate (master's/PhD) program in Business Administration, Public Policy, Public Administration, International Relations, Economics, Communications, Information Systems, Project Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.  
• Demonstrated interest in organizational management, business operations, project management, technology, or international development.  
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.  
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.  
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse teams.  
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.  
• Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, data visualization, communications, or project coordination is desirable but not required.
