The consultancy will contribute to strengthening PAGE Global and Brazil’s knowledge management, communication, and dissemination efforts through the development of high-quality institutional publications and visual communication materials. The ultimate result of the consultancy will be the delivery of professionally designed and editorially produced publications and communication materials that ensure technical quality, visual consistency, accessibility, and alignment with institutional guidelines. This includes the development and/or adaptation of graphic design projects, visual identity application, layout design, illustrations, charts, tables, infographics, and preparation of final files for both print and digital dissemination. Overall, the consultancy will strengthen the visibility, coherence, and effectiveness of PAGE communication products, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and good practices related to green economy and ecological transformation initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) is the United Nations system’s designated entity for addressing environmental issues at the global and regional levels. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UNEP’s Industry and Economy Division works with international governments and non-governmental organizations, national and local governments, business and industry to develop and implement policies, strategies, and practices that are cleaner and safer, incorporate environmental costs, use natural resources efficiently, reduce pollution and risks for humans and the environment, and enable the implementation of conventions and international agreements. The Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE), an interagency initiative involving the International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) supports nations and regions in reframing economic policies and practices around sustainability to foster economic growth, create income and jobs, reduce poverty and inequality, and strengthen the ecological foundations of their economies. The Economic and Fiscal Policy Unit (EFPU) is implementing PAGE initiatives related to knowledge management, communication, and dissemination of results on green economy and ecological transformation policies. Specific tasks and responsibilities The main activities to be carried out within the framework of this consultancy are: -Review of relevant background materials, institutional communication guidelines, reference publications, and visual identity standards provided by UNEP/PAGE. -Analysis of the communication objectives, target audiences, and technical content to support the development of coherent and effective visual solutions. -Development and/or adaptation of the graphic design concept for institutional publications and communication materials. -Definition and application of editorial grids, typography, color palettes, visual hierarchy, and graphic standards aligned with PAGE and UNEP institutional identity. -Development and/or adaptation of visual elements, including illustrations, charts, tables, infographics, icons, and other graphic resources as required. -Preparation of the proposed graphic design concept and layout structure to UNEP/PAGE focal points for technical review. -Incorporation of comments, revisions, and adjustments requested by UNEP/PAGE prior to finalization of the design package. -Carry out the editorial production and layout design of communication materials, including the executive summary, policy brief, and preliminary version of the full publication (approximately 100 pages). -Organize and format textual and visual content to ensure readability, consistency, accessibility, and visual coherence. -Adapt charts, tables, infographics, and other visual elements to the approved graphic design concept and institutional identity. -Coordinate with UNEP/PAGE focal points throughout the revision process and incorporate technical and editorial comments into updated versions. -Support technical verification of formatting, visual consistency, pagination, references, image quality, and overall editorial quality control. -Finalize the editorial production and layout design of the final version of the publication, incorporating all approved revisions and adjustments. -Develop and/or adapt the PowerPoint presentation base in alignment with the approved visual identity and communication standards of PAGE Brazil and UNEP. -Prepare final print-ready and digital dissemination files, ensuring technical compliance and quality standards. -Support proof validation, final technical adjustments, and file closure processes. -Provide graphic production support and technical coordination related to printing specifications and dissemination requirements when necessary. -Deliver final versions of all materials produced under the consultancy.
Qualifications/special skills
Training or qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Editorial Design, Communication, Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field is desirable. This may be evidenced by a university degree, technical/vocational certification, and/or a demonstrated body of professional work (portfolio) of equivalent standard. -At least three years of proven professional experience in graphic design, editorial production, visual communication, or related areas. -Demonstrated experience in the design and layout of institutional publications, reports, policy briefs, or communication materials for international organizations, public institutions, NGOs, or development-related initiatives. -Experience working with long-form publications and complex technical content is desirable. -Familiarity with sustainability, green economy, climate, environmental policy, public policy, or international development themes is considered an asset. -Previous experience working with UNEP, PAGE, UN agencies, or other international organizations is considered an asset.
Languages
Knowledge of Portuguese and English is required.
