Job Description

The project “Increasing capacity and knowledge in the field of ethical recruitment and promoting regular channels for labour migration to Poland in response to labour market needs” is being implemented by the International Organization for Migration in partnership with the University of Warsaw – Centre of Migration Research under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 programme. The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator (Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion) and overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Poland, the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of the Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion Programme activities in Poland.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion Programme activities.
  2. Support in designing and conducing beneficiaries’ needs assessments, including development of methodology applying qualitative and quantitative methods.
  3. Identify the most effective channels of information provision for migrants and information promotion during migration pathways to Poland.
  4. Conduct mapping of activities implemented by other stakeholders to ensure synergy and complementarity of IOM response in the scope of information provision for migrants and social-economic inclusion.
  5. Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data, prepare reports.
  6. Deliver information and draft information materials for migrants on the regular pathways to Poland, including legal aspects and associated risks.
  7. Support in projects development through drafting segments of the project proposal or preparation of project proposals on information provision for migrants and social-economic integration.
  8. Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary, act as focal point for administrative coordination of projects implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
  9. Draft project reports; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures.
  10. Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops.
  11. Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Master’s degree in social science, or law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience; or,
  • High school graduate with six years of relevant professional experience;

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years of experience in implementing and coordinating projects in the area information provision for migrants and/or of migrants socio-economic integration; 
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;

  • Proved experience in drafting project proposals;

  • Experience and expertise in developing/conducting needs assessments or research including development of methodology;

  • Experience in develop the content for informational/promotional materials  for migrants;

  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, and non-governmental organizations.

  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

SKILLS

  • Excellent knowledge on migrants’ social economic inclusion and labour mobility to Poland;
  • Excellent knowledge on immigration law in Poland;
  • Knowledge on migration management;
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, personal commitment, efficiency and flexibility;
  • Ability to provide information in clear and consistent way;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure and keep deadlines;
  • Ability to work individually with minimal supervision and in multicultural team;
  • Good level of computer literacy;

LANGUAGES

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

REQUIRED
For this position, fluency in English and Polish is required (oral and written).

DESIRABLE
Working knowledge of Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish.
